Kevin West, a comrade and one of L.A.’s last gentlemen, somehow looking simultaneously debonair and exhausted. This was after a reading at Skylight Books, where I got to share the podium with one of my heroes, Mark Richard. The night was minutes from over, which was good, because morning was minutes away. Watch out for Kevin’s “Saving the Season” in 2013. He’s about to make canning cool.
